First Years' Orientation

Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Management & Finance had an orientation for the new comers of the 1st year batch on 13th of November 2015. The event was held at the faculty premises. 

As an introduction to the program the new members were shown a video on the value of Team Work with the objective of showing them that it is the secret behind all our projects which we were able to complete with great success. 

Rtr. Praveen Fernando, President of our club, shared his views and experiences that he got through the club from the point he started as a member until his journey up to becoming the President of the club. He further explained about the past projects and also informed about two other projects coming up later this month.

Afterwards a presentation was shown which had photographs of our past projects, the meetings we had, and other incredible memories created through Rotaract which we will cherish forever.

Later in the meeting our Vice Presidents Rtr. Ruvindi De Silva and Rtr. Shalini Wijewardana also gave inspiring speeches about their experiences through involving with the activities of the club, how their personalities developed, professionalism gained and the perk of getting to make good friends and connections both from our club and other clubs as well.

We had an ice breaker game which was about sharing the name, personal likes and dislikes of our members. We made this an opportunity to celebrate our club’s 5th birthday, which was on the 1st of November, with a delicious cake.

It’s great to see our Rotaract family growing bigger and bigger, where we have the potential to do many better projects in the future with our team, which has already proved the statement, “Team work makes the Dream work.”
